DotNetNuke: Introducing “DNN Dynamic Roles” and “DNN Google Analytics Advanced”

This blog post is about introducing our first professional modules “DNN Dynamic Roles” and “DNN Google Analytics Advanced” for the DNN CMS platform (formerly known as DotNetNuke). Both modules are can be used in the community and the professional version (Evoq Content) of DNN and are compatible to Microsoft’s Azure Cloud Platform. Both modules can be tested for free in development environments (under domains localhost or *.local) and can be downloaded from our website

For use in production environments a license key is needed which can also be bought on the download sites linked above.

DNN Dynamic Roles

DNN Dynamic Roles extends the standard DNN role system by “dynamic roles”, i.e. roles for which the administrator creates rules that defines whether or not a user is member of that role. Instead of manually assigning users to the roles, as it needs to be done for standard DNN roles, DNN Dynamic Roles takes care of automatically add or remove users from the dynamic roles. To support maximum flexibility a large set of criteria (like cookies, GET/POST parameters, date/time, IP geo localization, etc.) and logical operators exist for defining those rules. As DNN Dynamic Roles seamlessly integrates into the standard DNN role systems, all dynamic roles can be used like standard roles when defining permissions for pages, modules, files or any other assets in the DNN CMS Platform.

DNN Google Analytics Advanced

DNN Google Analytics Advanced extends the standard DNN Google Analytics integration by tracking additional events. The standard DNN Google Analytics integration enables administrators to easily set up Google Analytics for page view tracking. DNN Google Analytics Advanced goes one step further: In addition to page views, events such as file downloads, search requests etc. are automatically, i.e. without any coding, reported to Google Analytics.
